Undertaking the TTC at the Sivananda Yoga Centre in Putney was one of the best decisions I have made. The experience was profoundly transformative, equipping me not only to become a well-rounded yoga teacher, but also with the wisdom to better understand and navigate the challenges of life. The teachings are rooted in authentic tradition and remain deeply relevant to the human condition, offering a depth and richness that goes far beyond the mainly physical focus of some modern gym-based yoga studios.

Studying on the TTC course was probably one of the best decisions I have made. I was nervous and excited all at the same time. I was older than the other students and wondered whether I would be able to cope with the pace of the course. I need not have worried as the course was well thought out, planned and executed. It allowed us to not only be enthusiastic participants of yoga but be able to pass on the knowledge gained/learnt to others after completing the course.

In 2013 I attended the four-week residential. For me, this was a truly inspirational and life-changing experience.
The course provided a well-designed structure which encompassed both traditional and classical yoga teaching methodologies, and their practical application in the class environment. Included were early morning Meditations, Asana Practice, Philosophical lectures, Karma Yoga and Evening Meditations. The teachers were extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and authentic.

Deepen your personal practice and develop the practical skills to teach yoga through direct experience and expert guidance. Graduates receive a certification recognised by the Yoga Alliance, confirming they have the knowledge and hands-on training required to teach Hatha Yoga, including asanas, pranayama, and relaxation. The Sivananda Yoga Teachers’ Training Course includes the following:

This yoga instructor course is inspired by the ancient Gurukula tradition, in which students live, study, and serve alongside their teachers and fellow students in a close, supportive environment. This direct contact with experienced teachers turns daily life itself into a rich learning experience.
The training’s daily schedule offers a complete yoga routine:
| 6:00 am | Meditation, mantra chanting and lecture (Satsang) |
| 8:00 am | Asanas and Pranayama |
| 10:00 am | Brunch |
| 11:00 am | Karma Yoga |

| 4:00 pm | Asanas and Pranayama |
| 6:00 pm | Dinner |
| 8:00 pm | Meditation, mantra chanting and lecture (Satsang) |

As an essential part of this course, you will spend one month immersed in the teachings of the Four Paths of Yoga. Within the Gurukula system, students bring detailed yogic theory to life through direct, practical experience.
