The Beauty of Sanskrit

4 - 8 October 2023

This course explores the sounds and symbols of the Sanskrit alphabet, which reflect the primal sounds of the universe. Learn the writing of the Devanagari (“language of the gods”) script, as well as proper pronunciation of mantras and prayers chanted in our classes, courses, and satsangs.

Sanskrit, is considered to be the Mother of all languages. Sanskrit is the most ancient of human languages and is know as Devanagari, the language of the Gods. Reciting Sanskrit has a profound calming, soothing and revitalising effect on body and mind.

This introductory course allows you to learn the shapes and sounds of the Sanskrit alphabet. Topics include vowels, consonants, ligatures, simple words and the writing of mantras in Sanskrit. Studying basic calligraphy of the Devanagari script brings new insights and enriches your understanding of the depths of yoga. No prior knowledge of Sanskrit is required to attend the course.
